LES gates open at 8.30am. In Primary, registration is at 8.55am and lessons finish at 4pm. In Secondary, registration is at 8.50am and lessons finish at 4.05pm. On Fridays, lessons finish one hour earlier: 3pm in Primary and 3.05pm in Secondary.

We deliver an enhanced English National Curriculum from Early Years through to A Level. This comprises:

Early Years (ages 3-5): Early Years Foundation Stage

Primary Key Stage 1 and 2 (ages 5-11): International Primary Curriculum

Secondary Key Stage 3 and 4 (ages 11-16): English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSEs and an optional Spanish Curriculum for native or high level Spanish speakers.

Sixth form (ages 16-18): A-levels and PCE (Pruebas de Competencias Específicas). 

(I)GCSEs, A Levels, AS Levels, English Cambridge Certificates, LAMDA, Duke of Edinburgh Award.

(I)GCSEs stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education. These British educational exams are taken in Year 11 after a two-year course, they are externally assessed, with fees for each subject. (I)GCSEs play a crucial role in helping students progress to the next stage of their education, such as enrolling in our Sixth Form. LES requires students to achieve certain grades in their (I)GCSEs because these grades demonstrate readiness for British A-levels. For example, our entry requirements for LES Sixth Form are a minimum  of 5 (I) GCSEs, Graduado escolar de educacion secundaria, Attestat (10 years) or the equivalent. It is also important that students have a good grasp of English, a minimum of B2 level. These requirements aren’t meant to be a barrier but to ensure students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the challenging but exciting environment of LES Sixth Form.

A Levels are globally recognised qualifications that provide students with a strong foundation for gaining entry to universities in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, and all around Europe, as well as other parts of the world. They allow students to specialise in subjects they are passionate about, preparing them for higher education and future careers. Universities use A Level results to assess a student's readiness for their chosen course of study. Many degree programmes have specific entry requirements tied to A Level grades in particular subjects.

In LES Sixth Form, we offer a two year A Level course allowing students to choose 3-5 subjects aligned with their future goals to facilitate University entry. AS Level qualifications are also available, these are typically taken over a one year period. More information on our Sixth Form is available in the Sixth Form Brochure.

Cambridge English exams are a series of internationally recognised English language proficiency tests developed by Cambridge Assessment English, part of the University of Cambridge available at LES. These are available at all levels, for all non first language Secondary students. A full support programme is in place to guide and support our students through these qualifications.

LES has a dedicated Additional Educational Needs (AEN) department supporting the educational needs of our students with diagnosed learning difficulties and providing up to three weekly support sessions for selected students. Our AEN department can also support students requiring assessment to determine how we can best support your child.

An "English as an Additional Language" (EAL) programme is available at LES to ensure our students have a strong grasp of the English language, allowing them to excel academically. The programme fast tracks their language development enabling them to join native English speakers for the duration of their courses.

LES offers an extensive bus service with 14 routes covering 27 towns, in the Marina Alta region. If you wish to sign up to the service, please email bus@les.edu.es , places are allocated based on availabilty.

Yes, the LES canteen offers a daily menu of hot meals, prepared daily in the school kitchens, catering to specific dietary requirements. In addition, a wide variety of specific diets are offered, from vegan to gluten-free or lactose-free. For information or to request special diets, please contact comedor@les.edu.es .

Class sizes vary according to the year group and subjects. Our average class sizes are 20 students or less across all Key Stages. We follow specific student-teacher ratio guidelines per year group.

Yes, LES has a dedicated boarding house, offering a "home from home" environment.

Extracurricular activities are central to the all-round education available at LES.

There are a range of options available during the school day, from the iSP International Opportunities such as Cultural Exchange, Chess Masters, Scientists, and many others, where students work alongside other iSP students around the globe. Lunchtime clubs can include the school newspaper LES Times (Secondary), drama and music clubs with students performing regularly on stage, to Model United Nations simulations to name a few.

After school we have an extensive range of clubs available for each age group, known as LES Plus Clubs. These cater for every interest, whether academic, sporting, artistic or personal development. The LES Plus Clubs finish at 5.15pm Monday-Thursday and 4.15pm on Friday.
