Chris Akin, originally from Canada, has spent over 30 years in international education, leading schools across seven countries and four continents. He has held roles ranging from Athletic Director to Head of School in various schools with different curricular frameworks. Chris joined the International Schools Partnership (ISP) in September 2018 as Head of School at Lady Elizabeth School, the year the new Secondary campus opened.Coming from a family of educators, Chris is married to Sandra, a professional chef from Lima, Peru. They have two grown children, Mathias and Tamara, both graduates of LES and now studying in Barcelona and Toronto, respectively.Chris holds a M.Ed in Educational Administration from The College of New Jersey, a B.Ed from Queen’s University, and a BPHE/BA in History from Queen’s University. He is a frequent workshop presenter, visiting school accreditation leader, and one of the committee chairs for the International Task Force on Child Protection.
Chris, our Deputy Head, brings extensive experience as an educator, history teacher, and school leader across the UK and EMEA. With a passion for storytelling and personal development, he is dedicated to enhancing academics, learning programmes, and opportunities beyond the classroom to inspire students.
Amy joined us from Portugal, where she was the founding Head of Primary at a new school. Before that, she spent many years leading the Primary and Early Years at the prestigious St. Paul’s – The British International School of São Paulo. With a background in English and strong expertise on Early Years she brings her passion for reading, her international background and her vision to keep childrens needs first.
Having arrived in the area just a few weeks ago, Amy is already enjoying her new home and exploring the community. To give parents the chance to meet her in person, we’ll be hosting a special reception on the first Friday, just before pick-up time. We hope to see you there!
Liam brings a wealth of experience and dedication to our school community. Liam worked at another ISP school in Andalusia prior to joining Lady Elizabeth. Before his time in Spain, Liam worked in secondary schools in the south east of England. During his career he has taken on various roles and responsibilitiesInspired to become a teacher by the fantastic educators who shaped his own learning journey, Liam is passionate about supporting young people in reaching their full potential. Nothing makes him prouder than seeing his former students thrive and succeed in their chosen fields.Liam values creating a warm and inclusive environment where every student feels supported and empowered to excel. When he’s not at school, you’ll find him spending time with his young family, enjoying sports and exploring Spain.
Angie, our Head of Boarding, brings warmth and expertise to ensure students feel at home. With a British background, she supports their learning, well-being, and social plans, creating a welcoming environment where they thrive both academically and personally.
Isabel, a Spanish traveler and global citizen, is dedicated to assisting new families. With her warmth and deep knowledge of the British and other education systems, she guides you in finding the perfect fit for your child's needs, ensuring a smooth and informed decision-making process.
With a Dutch background and a deep understanding of family life, as a mother of five, she brings warmth, experience, and expertise to her role. Having supported numerous families over the years, she knows the challenges and joys that come with parenting and education. Whether you have questions about school life, need guidance, or simply seek a friendly and knowledgeable contact, she is here to help. Her approachable nature and firsthand experience make her the perfect person to assist you with all your needs at LES. No matter what concerns you may have, she is ready to listen, support, and guide you every step of the way.
With a Spanish background and experience as an auditor and accountant, she expertly manages all financial matters at the school. Her strong attention to detail and expertise in financial control ensure smooth operations, transparency, and efficiency, making her a key asset in maintaining the school's financial stability and organization.
