Changemakers

As our changemakers, students participate in the ILOS programme, which provides them with the tools and methodologies to develop projects focused on social impact. This role empowers them to take action on strategic issues relevant to their school community and its future.

Christmas market

Join the Christmas Market, a festive event supported by the LES Amigos parent group that brings the school community together during the holiday season. The event features stalls, games and performances, creating a joyful atmosphere for all attendees.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Dutch

English as Second Language

Join the English as an Additional Language (EAL) programmes at LES, available from Year 3 for students requiring extra language support. Founders' Day celebration

Participate in LES's Founders' Day, a cherished occasion that commemorates the school's establishment, bringing together students, staff and alumni to celebrate its history and achievements.The event typically features speeches, performances and activities that reflect the school's ethos and journey over the years.

House Captains and Deputies

Students in the role of House Captains play a vital role in promoting school spirit, teamwork and a sense of belonging within their Houses. These student leaders organise and lead house events, encourage participation and act as role models for their peers.

By encouraging collaboration and healthy competition, they help to create a positive and inclusive school environment where every student feels valued and motivated to contribute.

International day

Join a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures represented within the school community. Students and families showcase traditional attire, cuisine, music and customs from their respective countries, fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. The event features educational booths, performances and activities that highlight global traditions and promote international mindedness among students.

ISP Filmmakers

Connect with young creatives across the ISP global network through this specialised filmmaking programme. Students collaborate on international film projects, deepen their media skills and experience a unique platform to share their voice with a wider audience. 

ISP CEP

Take part in ISP’s Cultural Exchange Programme and connect with learners from across the globe. Through travel, discovery and collaboration, students build lifelong friendships and global perspectives. 

Karate

Build strength, confidence and self-discipline through karate. Students learn traditional techniques and self-defence while developing respect, focus and resilience. A structured club that supports both physical and personal development. 

LAMDA Public Speaking Club

Build persuasive communication skills, practise vocal techniques and learn to deliver structured speeches with confidence. This club prepares students for LAMDA Public Speaking exams and real-world presentation success. 

Language Trips (Berlin and Paris)

Put language skills into action on immersive trips to Berlin and Paris. Students build fluency, confidence and cultural understanding through hands-on experiences in real-world settings.

LAMDA Certification

Pursue official LAMDA qualifications in acting, public speaking, mime and musical theater. Available to Secondary pupils, these internationally recognised awards build confidence, creativity and communication—and contribute UCAS points at higher levels. 

LAMDA Drama Club

Express your creativity through painting, performing and other artistic expressions in our department. Whatever your age, you will be encouraged to explore and develop your talents naturally. And as an official LAMDA - London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art centre, we offer exciting opportunities to hone your performance skills.  

LES Eco Guardians

Students in the Eco Guardians group explore ways in which they, staff and parents can be more environmentally friendly and reduce our carbon footprint. 

The group actively researches and implements projects that focus on waste reduction, energy conservation, minimising paper waste and composting, among other initiatives. In the past they have sponsored awareness campaigns, beach clean-ups and other activities to ensure that LES is as 'green' as possible.

Join the LES Amigos team! Participate in our dynamic parent volunteer group, a dedicated group of parent volunteers who organise and host various school events and weekend activities. Their initiatives include school social events such as the Christmas Fair and International Fair. They also coordinate parent cafés, bake sales, and uniform sales, fostering a strong sense of community within the school.

LES Head pupils

In both Primary and Secondary, students are selected as Head Pupils through an application and interview process.

They lead the student body and represent their peers in important school discussions and decisions. In addition, students in this role act as ambassadors for their peers and the school, often addressing visitors and other groups, such as at awards assemblies and new student and family orientations.

LES Interact Volunteers

Sponsored by the Rotary Club, students formed the Interact group at the school to organise community service events and activities to raise awareness of and contribute to service projects in the local community.

LES Student Voice

Pupils volunteer to join the Student Voice team in both primary and secondary schools. These students work closely with the Pastoral Leaders and receive coaching training focused on promoting wellbeing for all.

The groups provide valuable feedback and suggestions for improving student life at our International School in Javea, while also contributing to efforts to improve wellbeing throughout the school.

LES time

It is led by an editorial team made up of secondary school students, who are chosen each year. It is published once a month and covers current affairs and topics of interest to students, under the final supervision of the  editor-in-chief of the newspaper and the head of English studies. 

Music lessons

Enhance your musical skills at Lady Elizabeth School with private music lessons available for both Primary and Secondary students. Taught by expert external instructors during the school day, these lessons cover a variety of instruments, including drums, piano, violin, guitar, and more.

Movie Makers

Explore the art of storytelling through film. In this club, students develop creative thinking, visual literacy and technical skills while analysing, scripting and producing their own short films. An inspiring space for budding filmmakers, with opportunities to enter the ISP Film Festival. 

MUN International Conference

Step into the role of global changemakers. Students debate global challenges, build leadership skills and collaborate with peers from around the world at international Model United Nations conferences. 

Mentoring

Students at our private school are paired with experienced mentors who guide them through academic and personal challenges. This mentoring programme fosters growth, builds confidence and helps students set and achieve their goals.

Through regular meetings and activities, mentors provide support, encouragement and valuable insight to help students reach their full potential. This approach reflects our commitment to developing life skills and preparing students for future success.

Primary Librarians

Students on our Library Leadership Programme are passionate leaders who play a key role in promoting a love of reading and learning within the school community. They help organise and maintain the library, recommend books to their peers and help younger students develop their literacy skills.

Primary Student OPAL Team

The Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) programme empowers students to enhance the outdoor play experience for their peers

Through this initiative, students take on responsibilities that encourage creativity, collaboration and active engagement in outdoor activities. They play a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive play environment that benefits the whole school community.

Primary Play Leaders

Students from both Primary and Secondary are elected by their peers each year. The Student Council represents the needs of all students and works to find ways to improve the British School in Javea for everyone in the community.

Over the past year, students on the Student Council have led whole school activities such as e-safety, anti-bullying week, neurodiversity week and fundraising initiatives. They also act as our ambassadors during visits to international organisations such as the United Nations.

Showstoppers

Step into the spotlight with showstoppers, our dynamic drama and musical theatre club. Students rehearse and perform throughout the year—building confidence, creativity and stagecraft. Highlights include seasonal shows such as the Christmas production and performances at Benidorm Palace.

Saturday Russian School 

Improve your Russian language skills with Saturday Russian School! Through engaging activities, you'll develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills while building your confidence and ability to communicate.

School Excursions & Trips

Take your learning beyond the classroom with exciting educational trips! From local day trips to international language immersion experiences in cities like Berlin and Paris, you'll have the chance to explore new places and cultures.

Spanish as Second Language

Access Spanish as an Additional Language (SAL) programmes at LES, offered from Year 3 for students who need extra support. These tailored programmes help students develop their Spanish language skills, enabling them to confidently engage in their studies and integrate into a bilingual environment.

Swimming

Master an essential life skill by immersing yourself in our swimming programme, a key part of our PE curriculum. Join our after-school swimming club, compete in local competitions and, if you're in Year 5 or 6, take part in our highly acclaimed annual Swimming Gala!

Learn and play volleyball through sports lessons and extra-curricular activities! Join our intramural volleyball group or compete with the school team in the local Marina Alta league, with games on Saturdays.
