Ages 11 - 16Our secondary years programme guides students through Years 7-9 (Key Stage 3) and Years 10-11 (Key Stage 4). Secondary students prepare for GCSEs while discovering their unique talents.
With ample opportunities to grow, they become confident leaders, taking charge of their own learning pathway.
Following the British and Spanish curricula, students are well-prepared for GCSEs, with a wide range of subjects tailored to their interests and future goals.
Students thrive in a bilingual setting, mastering English and Spanish, both available as GCSEs, while also having the option to study Dutch, Chinese, German and French.
In 2024/25, 80% of our students achieved grades between A* and B, exceeding the UK average of 68%. In addition, 42% of students achieved grades between 7 and 9, well above the UK average of 22%.
Students gain life skills through assemblies, daily activities and PSHE, fostering communication, teamwork and problem-solving for future success.
Secondary students receive guidance and mentoring to navigate Sixth Form choices, select A Levels, and prepare for university and future careers.

In our British secondary school, students receive termly and end-of-year reports to track their progress. They take mock exams for GCSEs and A Levels, followed by official exams.
English and EAL students complete Oxford placement tests, while CAT4 tests assess cognitive abilities and attitudes.

The Careers Department runs the Future Pathways Programme, which includes Unifrog, careers fairs, workshops, mentoring and Work Observation Week for Year 10. These opportunities help students make informed career choices, benefiting from personalised guidance to shape their future path.
The Sixth Form mentoring programme also supports Year 7 and 8 students through activities and tutoring sessions. Mentors offer guidance and advice, helping new students settle in and feel part of the school community. Whether it’s a friendly ‘high five’ in the corridor or lending a hand with challenges, mentoring provides a valuable opportunity for both mentors and mentees to connect.

GCSEs are globally recognised qualifications, accepted in countries like the US, Canada and Australia. With over 25 subjects to choose from, students can explore diverse interests and set the foundation for future goals. Alongside their studies, they gain valuable qualifications while enjoying hands-on activities, school events, trips and Plus Clubs.
Preparing for A Levels
Sixth Form (Y12 & Y13) at LES offers A Levels, a British qualification for students aged 16+. These two-year courses are recognised for higher education in the UK and globally. With over 20 subjects available, students take charge of their academic journey, preparing for university and future careers.
